Oxytocin injections in rodent models directly activated SEG/GRP neurons via oxytocin receptors and influenced male sexual functions in the lumbar spinal cord. Reducing the activity of oxytocin receptors resulted in a decrease in sexual activity and ejaculatory response in the animals.
While Parkinson's disease is known to generally affect motor function, there is a range of other symptoms associated with the neurodegenerative disease. Some additional symptoms include changes to the skin on the face and problems forming facial expressions. A new AI system is able to detect subtle changes in facial attributes associated with Parkinson's disease.
