hello! Are there any recomended books on neuroscience that I can read as a part of self teaching. I already have a first degree on biology so I have some very basic knowledge of the field.
Welcome @olga! I suggest you start with Neuroscience: Exploring the Brain by Mark F. Bear, Barry W. Connors and Michael A. Paradiso. That was my favorite introductory neuroscience book. It goes into enough detail to keep you on your toes and explains it clearly enough to learn at a nice pace. Another great intro book is Neuroscience, 5th Edition by Dale Purves, George J. Augustine, David Fitzpatrick and William C. Hall. I’m sure either is a great place to start. Hope to read more from you soon.
Proust and the Squid by Maryanne Wolf is a great book, though it doesn’t necessarily teach you about Neuro, it does give an overview of the parts of the brain related to reading and dyslexia. It’s one of my favorites.
