Sorry if I drop in on this group just like this, as I’m no scientist at all. Just a very interested layperson. So I have a question: does anone know of any reserach or articles about how hyperparathyroidism inflicts the brain? Thanks!

I’m not familiar enough with hyperparathyroidism to give a useful answer, but I did find a few resources to check that may help you find more information.

That may get you started. I’ll have a better look later this evening and provide an update if I find something extremely insightful.
Thank you very much! Very interesting reads! And scary.
I’m interested , because of personal background:
having a HPT surgery during pregnancy , after doctors found 4,6 calcium level in my blood.
Luckily, everything went well.
Except — I was forgetful before the surgery, and that improved over time. One thing is still very bad since:
I have big trouble dealing with everything considered time and timing , so i wondered if there was a “time” center in the brain, that got totally “calcified away” or if that is absolutely not possible, and I am imagining things :)
