Description

3B Scientific VP755/1 KNM-ER 406, Omo L. 7a-125 Anthropological Skull Model, 7.1″ x 7.1″ x 8.9″

The 3B Scientific VP755/1 KNM-ER 406, Omo L. 7a-125 anthropological skull model is used for the anatomical study of pre-human hominid cranial features. The model is cast from replicas of the Kalvarium skull (KNM-ER 406) and partial mandible (Omo L. 7a-125) specimens featured in the anthropological collection at Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University, Frankfurt/Main, Germany, for accurate reproduction. The classification of the skull’s species has not been clarified.

The VP755/1 is mounted on a pedestal for display, with an inscribed base depicting the geographical area of the original skull’s discovery. The model is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, which is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and has high strength. PVC resists reactions with acids, gasoline, alcohol, and hydrocarbons. Anatomical models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings.

The model measures 7.1 x 7.1 x 8.9 inches/18.0 x 18.0 x 22.5cm (D x W x H).
(D is the horizontal distance from front to back; W is the horizontal distance from left to right; H is the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point.)
